Product releases in 2022

Everything Peerdom shipped in 2022: new features, app updates and improvements, with the date each one went live.

Peerdom API is here

The Peerdom API is finally here! Grab the nearest tech-savvy person in your organisation, and they’ll be able to read your data from Peerdom, in order to use it in other contexts. For example, you might import role descriptions into another software or view your list of Peerdom Projects in another digital tool. Check our API documentation.

Synchronize custom data from your external directory

If you’re synchronizing your Peerdom peer directory to an external directory (e.g. Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace), you can now automatically import additional peer information from the directory. For example, you may import a peer’s phone number or geographic region.

Quickly assign role holders

Did you know you can right click on your map for shortcuts? Now you can quickly assign a role holder by right clicking on a role and selecting “Assign role holders”.

View your organization in three dimensions

Space: the final frontier. We’re excited to now offer a 3-dimensional spatial layout of your org map, so you can see your organization in ways you’ve never seen it before.

Browse your peers by name

In the peer dropdown you have an overview of all individuals in your organization. These names are now sorted alphabetically.

Priority loading to important information

When loading your map, you now see the important data first and a visual indicator of areas still loading. This leads to faster map reading experience!

Rounding of contributions on mirrored roles

Contribution percentages for mirrored roles are now clean and accurate, rounded for easy reading.

Vacant roles appear striped - when it matters

When building your first map, all roles appear striped - indicating they are currently vacant. While useful to spot staffing gaps, this can be visually noisy in the beginning. We’ve made it so that striped (empty) roles only appear when you’ve assigned at least one peer to a role.

Spot your colleagues without photos

Photos give your profile and map life. For those who haven’t uploaded a profile photo, we’ve made it easier to spot them. Names are now abbreviated to four letters, and a color is assigned to their avatar.

Guests can now search too

We’ve extended the available features for free Guest accounts, starting with the ability to search the map for peers, role titles, and groups.

Even contributions

In some cases, role contributions (Contribution App) would be displayed too precisely - with too many decimal places. We’ve rounded this up so that it’s easy and intuitive to read contributions.

Full anonymisation of peers available for public maps

Did you know you can make your map public and share your beautiful map with your partners, clients, suppliers, and the world? You can now also fully anonymise the personal information of your peers and navigate to anonymised profiles.

We spent the summer speeding up Peerdom and squashing out various bugs - getting ready for a solid start to autumn.

Freshly designed emails

Peerdom occasionally sends you important notifications via email. These communications are now sexier, more legible, and more actionable.

More powerful search looks inside role & group descriptions

Search for keywords that appear in role and group descriptions. For example, find a role with a particular responsibility or a peer with a certain role focus. The new search engine provides a wider range of results to help you instantly find what you’re looking for across Peerdom.

Set your map layout to expanded circle view and add connecting lines

Choose the expanded circles visualisation in the “View as” dropdown menu above the map and expand the view with the line option.

Archive or delete an organization (if you are its Owner)

Do you have organizations in your list that you no longer need? Simply go to the Organization Settings to either archive the organization, keeping its data safely stored away for re-use later, or choose to permanently delete it.

Try the Insights App

We are excited to introduce the Insights App - a new way to discover what’s happening behind the scenes in your organization. Visualise the roles in your organization with the greatest or least role turnover. The role turnover insight overlays a heat map that indicates how frequently role holders are leaving each role. Use this information to focus attention on roles with the largest impact on employee retention.

More performant loading of the Peer Profile

We have revisited and optimised peer profile loading so that you can see the most relevant information even sooner.

Peer activity shows on the peer profile

Find out how active your peers are on Peerdom by checking out their visit count on their peer profile.

Keep track of how many unpaid guest accounts you have left

You get 20 free Guest accounts for your organization. We help you to keep track of the numbers: When giving a peer Guest access rights, the dialogue shows how many free guest accounts you have left.

Visual indicator of email verification

Find out at one glance if a peer has verified their email address. Peers who have verified their email address, or logged in via SSO, now have a green circle around their avatar in the peer dropdown menu.

Set your map layout in the dropdown menu

Choose how you want to see your organization. The “View as” dropdown menu above the map shows you options including nested circles, expanded circles or a list view.

See your organization in new ways

Here’s to seeing your organization in a way you haven’t seen it before: You can now expand roles outward, by turning off circle nesting. This new “expanded” visual is how many Sociocracy organizations prefer to see their organization. Turn off circle nesting to see your organization from a fresh perspective.

Introducing the Insights App: Find unstable roles by visualising role turnover

Introducing the Insights App! Discover patterns and make data-driven decisions. The first available insight colors your roles according to the frequency at which people are leaving them (role turnover). The Insights App will automatically turn on Journal App.

Insights App: Role fluctuation in the list view

Yet another way to see your organization. Role turnover is also available on the list view with the same same warm to cold tones as on your map.

A glow up for the warning prompts

The notification prompts are among the oldest elements and needed a visual update. They now got a fresh look so they pop even more and guarantee you never loose an important piece of information.

A visual refresh for the list view

The list view was in need of some visual polish and now shines with its new look. You can seemlessly swap back and forth between list and circle views while inspecting the same role or group. Never lose context!

Personalise the product wording

Peerdom can be customised to fit any organizational design, and its vocabulary can be tailored accordingly. Choose from several terms for how you call peers, groups, roles, and representatives in the organization settings.

Call your peers contributors

Tell us what organizational form you are using, and we support the appropriate terminology. We have added “contributor” as another term to refer to your colleagues.

Add Goals from the global action menu

Less steps to set a new goal: When the goals app is activated, Editors or Owners can add a new goal ”+ New…” menu.

Traffic light confidence votes for Goals are here

How sure are you that you can reach your goals? Cast your confidence vote and see overall team confidence with a simple traffic light system: high, medium or low.

Update of the global product wording

Peerdom is not bound to a specific organizational style such as Holacracy or Sociocracy. To keep agnostic, we have renamed “circles” to “groups”.

Take quick action with a right-click menu

Edit your map in two clicks! By right clicking on a role or group, you can now directly shortcut to editing the description, moving or copying.

Draft actions are listed in a simple pop-up menu

With more and more actions becoming possible for drafts, we now list your options in a simple and intuitive pop-up menu. Quickly duplicate or publish a draft, or spin-off a new organization - in just two clicks.

Update goals simultaneously for all mirrored roles

When you attach goals to a mirrored role, updates are synchronised to all roles mirrored with it. To avoid unexpected changes to goals on the mirrored roles, we now ask to confirm your updates when you change mirrored role goals.

Clarifying how SSO-connected organizations can let peers go

Connecting your employee database to Peerdom via SSO is an easy way to maintain a single employee database. If one of your peers leaves the organization, we make it clear that you need to manage with through your internal database team - not through Peerdom.

Goal progress is easy to track

You can now easily track progress with subgoal milestone markers. Overall progress is now represented by a single, easy-to-read percentage.

Offboard peers by letting them go

When one of your colleagues moves on to the next adventure, you can now “Let the peer go”. This marks them as no longer working at your organization. She or he will be removed from the peer dropdown and unassigned from all roles. However, their data remains in Peerdom in order to keep your organizational history intact.

Smooth Single-Sign-On integration

Connect to your employee database with ease: For organizations who synchronise their employee directories and connect to Peerdom by SSO, we’ve improved the experience with connection testing, feedback loops, and faster synchronisation.

Revoke Peerdom access for peers

Maybe you’d like to add a peer to the map but don’t want to provide access to Peerdom yet. Or maybe you’d like to revoke Peerdom access for an individual. Both are now possible by changing a peer’s access rights category to “No access”.

Smarter data loading for better performance

We’ve significantly sped up the loading of your Peerdom. Even if you have a complex map, you can now navigate it almost immediately!
