Add richer connections to your map with custom relationship fields. Link peers, groups, or roles directly to each other to document complex or hidden relationships between them.
Do you want to define fallback options for critical roles? Use a "Deputy Role Holder" relationship to assign a backup person for roles. This ensures operational continuity when someone is unavailable.
Do you want to clarify role progression paths? Add a "Prerequisite Role" relationship to roles that require prior experience in another position. This helps chart career development pathways clearly.
Do you want to track dependencies between groups or teams? Use group-to-group relationships to highlight dependencies. For example, define that Group A depends on Group B and Group C for certain outcomes, making it even easier to manage collaborations.
Do you want to capture reporting lines in your organization? Create a "Line Manager" relationship field in the peer profile to connect direct reports with their supervisors. This way, everyone knows who reports to whom at a glance.
Do you want to link mentors with mentees in your organization? When a new peer joins, add their mentor to a"Mentor" relationship field on their profile. Foster strong connections and a culture of support from day one.
Do you want to capture interests or aspirations for career growth? Create fields like "Favorite Role" or "Future Role Interests" to document what roles peers are most interested in pursuing next.

Custom relationship field names appear to users in the language they set in their personal settings. If your organization supports more than one language, you can provide translations for field names. To translate the property field name, simply click "Translate" next to the field.
Translations are possible for the following languages: English, German, Dutch, French, and Spanish. If you leave a translation empty, the original custom relationship name will be taken as the default.
Once you're satisfied with the translations, click "Update translation" to save your edits.
We’d love to hear all the different ways you use the relationship feature, so once you've got your map items linked, let us know!
